5 Affirmations To Uplift Your Spirit

affirmations girl indie

We all have thoseย days where we need a little bit of outside help to stay afloat in our chaotic lives. Sometimes, after we’ve put our energy into countless projects and responsibilities, it may feel like there is little left for ourselves.

I’ve been asked by readers how I stay so inspired and positive in my daily life, and the truth is- I don’t! There are times where I feel anything but positive and just want to curl up and lay with self pity. When I feel too drained to pick myself back up, I seek outside inspiration to uplift my tired spirit.

We are our thoughts. It is important for us to translate those thoughts intoย words that cultivate our best selves. Affirmations help purify our thoughts because they transform our way of thinking, which increases happiness and self- confidence. Here are 5 affirmations that if practiced daily, can help uplift your spirits:

I free myself from my destructive thoughts and self-doubt

No longer will I allow my self-doubt and destructive thoughts to harm my sense of self-worth and have me believe I am unworthy. It is time to release the thoughts that hinder my growth, and make room for those that are caring and gentle.

I forgive those who have hurt me in the past and accept their perceived wrong doings.

It is not a simple task to forgive, but I release the resentment and hurt I have held on to. I will embrace them with acceptance, kindness, and understanding. By doing this, I bring myself peace and room to grow forward.

Each day I am cultivating new habits, a healthy mind and a healthy sense of self-worth

Cultivating new habits and a healthy mind is like exercise, it must be practiced daily and become a familiar routine. I am dedicated to finding balance and wellness within myself each day.

I am open to change, transforming experiences and any opportunities that gravitate toward my energy

New experiences may be uncomfortable or frightening, but I am open to transforming experiences and opportunities that will broaden my perspective and beliefs. Although it seems scary and strange, I will let go of my comfort zone. I believe that each experience I have was meant for me, and has entered my life with purpose.

I will chase my goals with my entire heart, and know that I am worthy of achieving them

My dreams, goals, and aspirations are all in my reach. Every single one of them. I am worthy of achieving what I dream of and believe in. I will work each day regardless of how small each step I take is, to create a life I love.

Positive beliefs are key aspects to holding an optimistic perspective on not only your life, but on your self as a person, and the moments you experience each day.

What are your daily affirmations that you practice and believe? Have you ever had a difficult time finding a way to feel balanced and positive? I would love to hear your story!

  • Hello Diana, really love the positivity in this post. I’m with you on all of these points mentioned. What helps me when feeling down is to accept it. I’m not so hard on me, sometimes this is just what I have to go through.. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

      Thank you Tiffany!

  • This is so true. Other people see other people so happy and they think that they have the best lives, so perfect, so inspired but what they don’t know are the struggles that they fight privately. I love how you encourage people to always see their worth. Great post!

    • Diana Maria

Thank you so much Shenna, you’re too kind! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I think I am a positive person in the long term (like when I think at my life in 10 years let’s say) but I’m not so optimistic in my everyday life. I usually try to meditate or have a chilled time at home if a day is going in the wrong direction.

    Caterina | http://www.caterinasosso.com

    • Diana Maria

Agreed! Meditating at home after hectic days can be so relaxing and refreshing ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Jenn Dalisay

Thank you for this! I am doubting myself sometimes because I feel like no matter how hard I work and try my best I am still not getting to where I want to be. I know I shouldn’t feel down because at least I did what I could. These phrases are really inspiring and I will print this out and post on my desk to uplift my mood whenever I am feeling down. ๐Ÿ™‚

    The Pink Lemonade Girl

    • Diana Maria

I feel that way quite often too Jenn, it’s comforting to know we all feel that way at times! Thank you for reading love! xx

Thank you Elizabeth! Have a wonderful weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I don’t really have daily positive affirmations that I practice so that is something that I will have to work on. I think right now, I am trying to figure out what I really want in different aspects of my life – career, relationships, etc – and once I do, work on really believing that I can achieve them and that I am worthy of actually reaching them.

    Emily | http://emilytrinh.com

    • Diana Maria

I feel like I’m in a really similar situation too Emily! It’s a confusing but wonderful period of learning about what you truly want ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for reading!

  • I don’t have daily positive affirmations, I just try to remind myself that I am loved and do love when I feel down.

That’s great to hear Linda, it isn’t easy to remind ourselves those things! xx

  • The Sunday Mode

I’ve been doing daily affirmations for probably about a month now and I like to keep them simple, one of my favourites is just “I love and accept myself” ๐Ÿ™‚

    Julia // The Sunday Mode

    • Diana Maria

That’s so great to hear Julia! That’s a simple yet very strong affirmation, I love that! xx

  • Michael

I agree with much of what you have written here, not so sure I could do daily affirmations. Facing mostly self inflicted wounds daily might be more harmful than good for me. Introspection, at least for me, is best in small doses. I see the wisdom in your words and appreciate them. ” Who in the world am I ? Ah, that’s the great puzzle.” Alice in Wonderland

    • Diana Maria

Thank you for your comment Michael, I really appreciate it! To each their own, I think what works best for you is most important. That’s a wonderful quote, thanks for stopping by! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Caitlin

I should write down my own affirmations! This is such a good way to lift your spirits every day first thing in the morning!

  • I love this post! I’ve been trying so hard to get back on the track of staying positive and meditating and all this other stuff I use to do… it just gets so hard sometimes when life keeps kicking you down. But at the same time, that’s the PERFECT time to show it you’re not going down without a fight!

It does get a bit hard at times, I feel the same way! I couldn’t agree more Hazel, thank you for reading xx

  • A fantastic post and agree with these wonderful points, it’s great to see such a positive post. It’s always wonderful to surround yourself with positive people and agree with you to forgive those who have hurt us. I’ve just finished The Alpha Course which was amazing, and we touched on many of these subjects.
    Great read.

  • I think it’s so important to make yourself feel good, to chase your dreams, and to let the past behind. By the way, your photos are absolutely gorgeous! I do find it difficult to be balanced and positive all the time, but often life gets in the way, and messes a schedule up, and I think it’s supposed to! Because without mess ups, there’s no way to lift yourself any higher. Great post and I just followed your blog! xx
