With the last stretch of Summer in full swing (where has the time gone?!), I’ve made it my personal goal to read as many books as possible before the year picks up again. I’ve created a list of five books I’ve been reading this summer, which will hopefully spark your reading list inspiration!
Truly Madly Guilty- Liane Moriarty
Author of Big Little Lies, Liane is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the world of fiction. This book is all about a regular barbeque at a friend’s house that slowly turns out to be anything but regular. It’s clever, witty, and filled with unravelling secrets and truths in the least expected moments. I loved this book all the way until the end and would definitely put it on the top of the reading list!
Jodi Picoult- Picture Perfect
Jodi Picoult is an amazing writer and has been one of my favorite authors for the last few years. Picture Perfect is the story about a woman who finds herself in a graveyard with her memory wiped clean. To her surprise, she’s married to one of Hollywood’s most famous actors- it’s almost too perfect. A deeper look in shows that not all things are how they appear. Jodi has always been great with creating a shock factor within her novels, and this one was no exception!
Best In Travel 2017- Lonely Planet
Travel fever is always high, so what better way to find new destinations for your travel bucket list than with a travel book? I received this book as a gift and absolutely love the diverse places and helpful tips they list. This is my go to book for travel inspiration and for feeding my wanderlust while I’m planning my next adventures. You can find more inspiring book here to get you feeling motivated and empowered this summer.
Summer People- Elin Hilderbrand
This novel is the story about a family’s summer spent in their home on Nantucket. It’s a story about loss, betrayal and first love. It’s a riveting story with twists at every turn, a summer novel with a dark side. As you can tell, I’m a sucker for a good book with twists and turns, so most of my reads always have a tangled storyline with some kind of villainous aspects.
Think Twice- Lisa Scottoline
Think Twice is a novel about two identical twins, Bennie and Alice, who couldn’t be any more different from one another. Alice possesses a darkness within her that’s shocking but as Bennie finds herself at the hands of her sister’s evil, her search for revenge unleashes a wickedness she never knew she had. This novel questions whether evil is born or bred within us- a penetrating story full of intensity. I have yet to finish this novel, but I have always loved thrillers with twists and so I’m excited to read this one!
What are you reading this summer?! I’m always looking for new additions to the reading list and would love to hear some of your favorites!
