5 Exotic Travel Destinations For Your Next Vacation

There are few places on earth that remain sheltered from the waves of globe trotters who seek to explore the most exotic corners of the world. These hidden gems may not yet make it on the top 10 travel destinations lists, but they are sure to offer you a unique, tranquil and adventurous experience that you won’t find anywhere else. Here are five exotic travel destinations to spark your wanderlust:

Whitehaven Beach, Australia

Whitehaven beach is known as Queensland’s most beautiful beach, with its crystal clear blue water and pure sand stretching over seven kilometers along Whitsunday Island. With exotic coves that overlook the blend of the pristine sand and turquoise tinted water, and lookout points with stunning views, Whitehaven beach is a piece of paradise on earth.

Bagan, Myanmar

I took a 9 hour night bus from Yangon to Bagan, checked into my hotel and got to the temples as fast as my feet could carry me before the sun came up. When I got to the suggested temple for a good view everything was pitch black and as the sun slowly revealed the dreamscape before me. Just then, the balloons started to soar. As the balloons drew nearer, its passengers and I exchanged good mornings and I gazed on as they glided slowly away

This sublime temple town is located in the beautiful Bagan, Myanmar. Dotted with sacred Buddhist temples decorating the exotic land in between the canopy of green, it is one of the most awe-inspiring archaeologist sites you will see. It is known for it’s serene views with lush palm and tamarind enchanting the land, and the Irrawaddy river which gently flows through the town towards the sea of mountains lining the horizon.

Kauai, Hawaii

Famously known for being the set of Jurassic Park (1993), Kauai is one of the most dreamlike Hawaiian Islands imaginable. Surrounded by tropical rain forests, tranquil waterfalls, and adrenaline filled hikes (The Stairway to Heaven, for one, although be careful- it is illegal!) Kauai has an abundance of adventure to offer. With marvelous, sandy beaches stretching across the island, Kauai is a perfect island to set up camp and immerse yourself in the serenity of nature in its purest form.

Bay of Kotor, Montenegro

Located on a Fjord, Kotor is a town 2,000 years old, full of historic culture and exotic beauty to offer its visitors. With towering mountain peaks and a coastline adorned with picturesque homes, Kotor is one of the world’s greatest hidden gems. Winding, cobble-stoned streets that lead to narrow alleyways and cozy cafes remind many visitors of a unique mix between the stunning Dubrovnik and romantic Venice.

Namje, Nepal

If you wish to take the road less traveled, look no further. There are literally no roads that lead to this Nepalese village. The only way to get to Namje is through a series of footpaths that overlook Mount Makalu. Namje is praised for it’s isolation, giving the handful of yearly visitors a peaceful break from their chaotic reality. The native people of Magar are an incredibly spiritual group that lives close to nature, and offers many individual life lessons to be learned. You can climb the top of Thumki Hill to admire the breathtaking views, or visit the sacred burial ground where the ancestors of villagers remain buried. Namje is an incredibly unique village surrounded by beautiful landscape that remains one of the world’s best kept secrets.
