Thrifting For The Soul

thrifshaa

thrifshaYou know how they say”One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? I never really understood that phrase or what it meant until lately, when I decided to indulge in some thrift shopping at the Kensington Market downtown Toronto. That’s when I  finally understood!

What I couldn’t understand was why someone would want to throw out or give away such amazing things! I instantly fell in love with every little boutique I stopped by in and all of the unique finds each one had.

I will admit, there’s a lot of sifting through you have to do to find something of value in these shops, but the hidden gems you find are usually so unique and individual that it makes it all completely worth it! Thrift shopping is kind of like going through old history- every item has a one of a kind story to tell because it comes from somewhere different. For me, it makes every piece of clothing or accessory I find more memorable and valuable in a way.

Even if you don’t happen to buy anything I’m sure you’ll enjoy looking through the clutter and madness that each thrift shop has to offer. It’s one of my favourite ways to get inspired to take on new projects and find myself a new look when I want to revamp my style!

Have I been able to inspire you to try out thrifting?
